Strain development | Developed by Tsuneyasu Kaisho, Research Center for Allergy and Immunologuy, RIKEN around 2005. The neomycin resistance gene was deleted and backrossed to C57BL/6 mice by Wataru Ise, Osaka University Immunology Frontier Research Center (IFReC), around 2011-2013. |
Strain description | Spi-C is an Ets family transcription factor. In Spi-C KO mice, the Spi-C gene locus was disrupted by cre recombinase-mediated depletion of the exon-containing regions flanked by two loxP sites. Spi-C-deficient mice show various phenotypes, such as ablation of splenic red pulp macrophage and defects in intestinal macrophage functions. |
