Strain development佐賀大学・医学部・久木田明子、菖蒲池健夫によって開発（2005年）C57Black6とDBAを掛け合わせたBDF1マウスの受精卵にトランスジーンをinjectionして作成。ファウンダーマウスをC57Black6 Cr（日本エスエルシー）オスと3世代戻し交配を行う。その後、兄妹交配にて維持。6-12週令マウスにおいて骨量減少がみられる。
Strain descriptionOCZF遺伝子は、マウスLRF（Zbtb7a）,ヒトFBI-1のラットオルソログで、N末にBTBドメインとC末にZnフィンガーを有するzBTBファミリータンパク質をコードしている。OCZF/LRF/FBI-1タンパク質は転写制御や蛋白質相互作用を介して造血細胞の分化決定や機能、癌化、生存調節に関わる。OCZFをカテプシンKプロモーターで高発現するマウスの骨組織では骨量が減少していた。これは、破骨細胞数の増加及び破骨細胞の生存能の亢進により、骨吸収が促進したためと考えられている。破骨細胞の機能及び骨代謝の研究に有用である。
