Strain developmentC7BL/6N由来ES株（RENKA株）より東京大学大学院薬学系研究科村田茂穂教授により作出（2009）。FLPマウスとの交配によりFRT配列に挟まれたneomycin耐性遺伝子カセットを除去。EIIa-creマウスとの交配により作出した全身KOマウスは新生児致死を示し、Alb-creマウスとの交配により作出した肝臓特異的KOマウスは26Sプロテアソームのユビキチン化タンパク質認識不全を生じる。プロテアソーム機能減弱マウスとして様々な生理現象、病態発症機構の解析に有用である。Rpn13コンディショナルKOマウスにEIIa-creと交配し全身KOマウスを作成。C57BL/6Nマウスと6世代以上交配済み
Strain descriptionRpn13は26Sプロテアソームの19S調節因子baseに会合するサブユニットである。ユビキチン認識のためのPruドメインを含みプロテアソームのユビキチン化タンパク質認識に働く。
