Strain development改正恒康先生（理化学研究所　統合生命医科学研究センター　炎症制御研究チーム　客員主管研究員）が理化学研究所　免疫・アレルギー科学総合研究センターにて2008年頃作製した。BALB/c コンジェニック系統。BALB/cAJclに10世代戻し交配を行った。
Strain descriptionケモカイン受容体XCR1は、ケモカインXCL1の受容体であり、主として樹状細胞の一つのサブセットに高い特異性をもって発現している。本マウスは、XCR1遺伝子座にヒト由来ジフテリア毒素受容体 (DTR (HBEGF) ) と蛍光タンパク質venus (理研BSI宮脇敦史先生由来) との融合タンパク質 (DTRvenus) をコードする遺伝子をノックインしたマウスである。Venusの発現にて、XCR1陽性細胞を同定できると同時に、ジフテリア毒素の投与により一時的に生体においてXCR1陽性細胞を除去できる。
