Strain development129SV ES を使用。その後戻し交配を13代行いC57BL/6J遺伝子バックグラウンドにした。精子、卵子ともに少ないノックアウトの雄雌では妊娠しにくいので、ヘテロマウスを交配し遺伝子欠損マウスを作成している。
Strain descriptionプロリン異性化酵素Pin1を欠損させたマウス。Pin1は、リン酸化Ser/Thr-Proを特異的に異性化する酵素であり、細胞周期や細胞内情報伝達の制御を行う。Pin1-KOマウスやその細胞を用いた研究により、Pin1が、癌、アルツハイマー病、心不全、脳梗塞、糖尿病、肥満、骨粗鬆症、感染症など多様な疾患に関係することが解明されている。
