Strain developmentC57BL/6J(日本チャールスリバーより購入)の受精卵筑波大学動物資源センター内で、CRISPR/Cas9を用いて2014年に開発。Homozygousの無毛のオスとHeterozygousの有毛のメスによる交配。その後は、表現系でHomozygousかHeterozygousかを判定して維持する。
Strain description３週齢くらいから脱毛を示す。脱毛後は毛が生えてくることはなく、ヘアレスマウスとなる。Hr遺伝子にc.63_67delCGGCAの変異が生じている。Homozygousの場合のみ脱毛の表現型を示す。３週齢くらいから腹部が脱毛し、４～８週齢くらいで背部が徐々に脱毛していく。脱毛後に毛が生えてくることはない。週齢が大きくなると皮膚が少したるむ。
