Strain development京都大学医学研究科・伊藤克彦（2015年）。C57BL/6CrSlc と４世代の交配を行った後、ホモ化した。ホモ・ヘテロの雄は、共に、雄性不妊を呈さない。
Strain descriptionPrm2は、精子形成、とりわけ精子形態形成期におけるHistone に代わるクロマチンの主要構成分子である。Prm2遺伝子を削除した雄マウスは、ホモ・ヘテロで雄性不妊を呈する。Prm2分子の５６番目のSerine燐酸化の影響を調べるため、Alanineに置換したマウスである。ホモ・ヘテロ共に、雄性不妊は、呈さない。精子形成、とりわけ精子形態形成期の研究に有用と思われる。
