Strain development | Developed by Soichi Takiguchi, National Hospital Organization Kyushu Cancer Center, in collaboration with Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo in 2002. E14TG2aIV ES cell line (129P2/OlaHsd) was used. C57BL/6J congenic strain (backcrossed to C57BL/6J for 35 generations). |
Strain description | Mta1 (metastasis associated 1) knockout mice. A genomic fragment corresponding from exon 10 to exon 13 of the Mta1 gene was replaced with a Neo resistance gene. The rate of homozygous mutants born from hetero x hetero crossing is much lower than what is expected from the Mendel’s law of inheritance. |
