Strain descriptionPIK3CAは，PI3Kの触媒ユニットであるp110αをコードする遺伝子であり，様々な悪性腫瘍でそのsomatic mutationが報告されている．これは，PI3KCAのmutationによるPI3K-Akt pathwayの恒常的活性化が腫瘍進展に関わっているためと想定される．本マウスは，Cre存在下にPIK3CAの変異蛋白の発現が誘導され，PI3K-Akt pathwayの活性化と様々な臓器における発癌の関連性検証に有用である．
