Strain descriptionp27遺伝子のS10A変異ノックインマウス (S10A型) 。ホモ変異体は正常に生まれ、生後も特に異常な表現型を示さない。p27は細胞周期を負に制御するCDKインヒビターであり、多くのがん組織でその発現量が減少しているため、重要ながん抑制遺伝子であると考えられている。p27タンパク質の10番目のセリン残基 (Ser10) のリン酸化は、自身のタンパク質の安定性を促進する。Ser10がアラニンに置換した変異 (S10A) をもつp27ノックイン (p27S10A KI) マウスは、体のサイズは正常であるが、脳、胸腺、脾臓、及び精巣などの多くの臓器でp27の発現量が減少している。p27<S10A> KIマウスのリンパ球において、G0期におけるp27の安定性は野生型の細胞と比較して顕著に減少している。これらのことから、Ser10 のリン酸化は、G0期におけるp27タンパク質の安定化に寄与することが考えられる。本マウスは、p27のSer10 のリン酸化の生理的意義の解明に関する研究に有用である。
