Strain development大阪大学微生物病研究所・竹田潤二、木下タロウ（1997）。R1 ES細胞を用いて作出。C57BL/6Jへ戻し交配された（N10以上）。
Strain descriptionPiga遺伝子のfloxedマウス。エクソン6がloxPで挟まれている (下流にloxPで挟まれたTk-neoカセットを持つ) 。完全に欠損したマウスの雄は胎生期9日目で致死。モザイクの雌は胎生14日頃で致死となり、頭部や顔面の形成異常がみられる。
