Strain descriptionVaspin (Serpina12) 遺伝子のトランスジェニックマウス。マウスaP2プロモーター制御下でVaspinを発現する。Vaspinは脂肪組織で産生される分泌蛋白でセリンプロテアーゼインヒビター (SERPIN) ファミリーに属し、α1アンチトリプシンと約40%のホモロジーを有する。ヒト血中では0.1〜数10ng/mlで存在している。肥満や2型糖尿病においてVaspinの発現は代償的に亢進する。Vaspinを脂肪組織に過剰に発現させたマウスでは、高脂肪高ショ糖食飼育時の体重増加やインスリン抵抗性、脂肪肝が改善する。また、血管内皮細胞のアポトーシス抑制を介して動脈硬化が軽減する。肥満やインスリン抵抗性および動脈硬化に関する治療ターゲットの探索などの研究に有用である。
