Strain descriptionFgf5遺伝子の自然突然変異系統。ホモマウスは長毛を呈する。Fgf5遺伝子の第3エクソンが欠落しており、mRNAはほとんど発現していない。Fgf5遺伝子は毛の周期の進行の際に重要な役割を担っており、幹細胞の分化誘導機構にも関連していることが示唆されている。
