Strain descriptionオレキシン神経特異的にtTAタンパク質を発現するトランスジェニックマウス。tTAタンパク質はtetO配列に結合しその下流の遺伝子発現を誘導する。神経ペプチドであるオレキシンを産生する神経は視床下部外側野に散在しており、睡眠覚醒の制御に重要な役割を担っている。様々なtetOマウスと交配することにより、オレキシン神経特異的に様々な外来遺伝子を発現させることが可能である。
