Strain development山田泰広先生 (岐阜大学 / 京都大学) が作出。v6.5 (ES Cell) (C57BL/6 x 129S4/SvJae) F1を用いて相同組み換えを行った。
Strain descriptionRest/Nrsfは神経分化のmaster regulaterとして働く転写抑制因子である。本マウスはRestによる転写抑制に重要なCoRESTとの結合部位をコードする最終exonのcoding regionおよびires-GFP配列をloxPで挟んであり、cre存在下でRest遺伝子を不活化可能である。2lox alleleのホモマウスには明らかな表現型はないが、creにて全身のRestを1loxにすると胎生致死である。3’UTRにires-GFPを有し、Restの転写を可視化可能である。
