Strain descriptionMuc21は膜貫通型ムチンであり、マウスの胸腺、気管、食道、膣、睾丸、眼球などで発現している。その機能は詳細には知られていないが、上皮細胞に対する保護や癌の悪性挙動に関わると考えられている。
Colony maintenanceC57BL/6J系統由来のES細胞をICRマウスに導入してキメラマウスを作出。C57BL/6JJcl (日本クレア) に戻し交配させた後、ヘテロ型×ヘテロ型で兄弟交配にて維持。
