Strain descriptionミトコンドリア DNA 合成酵素の校正活性を失わせた変異体の遺伝子に、前脳特異的なプロモーター (CAMKIIα) を結合したトランスジーンを C57BL6/J に導入したトランスジェニック(TG) マウス。躁うつ病類似の行動異常を示すことから、気分安定薬の開発研究および躁うつ病の病態研究に有用と考えられる。
Colony maintenance通常の研究目的では、オス TG マウスを C57B6/J 野生型メスと繁殖させる。（メスより変異ミトコンドリア DNA が伝達されるのを防ぐため）繁殖効率：A行動の異常がある
