Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearanceblack [a/a B/B C/C]
Strain developmentDeveloped by Drs. Masaaki Hazama and Shigetada Nakanishi in 2002.
Strain descriptionB6.D2-Tg(Pvalb-IL2RA/EGFP)2Kyo. The calcium-binding protein, parvalbumin, Pvalb is expressed in fast-twitch fibers in skeletal muscles and a subpopulation of inhibitory neurons in the CNS. These mice express human interleuikin-2 receptor alpha-subunit (IL2RA)-GFP under the control of Pvalb gene promoter.
Colony maintenanceSibling Mating
References
Different regulatory sequences are required for parvalbumin gene expression in skeletal muscles and neuronal cells of transgenic mice.
