Strain description | This strain carries diabetes-related loci from Chr 2 of A/J backcrossed to SM/J. This strain is thought to carry a causative gene of diabetes in the integration region originating from A/J on chromosome 18. This strain exhibits a clear diabetes phenotype, compared with a control strain. This SM.A-t2dm2saR1A congenic strain was produced by backcrossing of the region between D2Mit11 to D2Mit37 of A/J onto the SM/J. |
