Strain development | Developed by Drs. Masamichi Yamamoto and Hiroshi Hamada at Osaka University in 2001. Foxh1<tm1.1Hmd> mutant mice were generated from Foxh1<tm1Hmd> mutant mice by crossing with cre-expressing line, Tg(ACTB-cre)Miya mice strain. |
Strain description | B6;129-Foxh1<tm1.1Hmd>. The transcription factor Foxh1 (horkhead box H1) mediates signaling by transforming growth factor-β, Activin, and Nodal. Foxh1 null deficient mice are perinatal lethal. The embryos of Foxh1 deficient mice exhibit various patterning defects by the loss of Nodal signaling. This mice are useful for the study of Foxh1 gene in vivo. |
Colony maintenance | Backcross to C57BL/6 (Heterozygote x C57BL/6Cr)Homozygous mutant mice are perinatal lethal. |
