Strain descriptionPD-1遺伝子はCD28ファミリーに属する免疫抑制受容体であり,活性化したリンパ球に発現し,リンパ球の機能を抑制する.PD-1 (Pdcd1) 遺伝子をノックアウトしたマウスではドナーに用いたマウスの遺伝的背景によってさまざまな自己免疫疾患を発症する.BALB/c背景のPD-1遺伝子ノックアウトマウスは自己免疫性の拡張型心筋症を発症することが示されている.自己免疫疾患制御のメカニズム,その遺伝的要因の関与の解明に有用.
Colony maintenanceN12のライン(BRC No. 00904)はあまり発症がひどくない(ホモ維持可能)。N10のライン(BRC No. 00903)は発症しやすく程度もひどい。
