Strain development2001年、糸原重美先生（理化学研究所）、小野寺節先生（東京大学農学部・応用免疫学研究室）、局博一先生特許出願公開番号：特開2001-204475（P2001-204475A)理研が開発したプリオン遺伝子ノックアウトマウスに対して、オリックス型プリオン遺伝子を導入したものである。
Strain description老齢においては自発的にその心電図にQRS異常波形を示すことが確認された。従って、このプリオン遺伝子改変マウスを用いて、該マウスの心電図異常を軽減する薬物の検出が可能である。30週以上から心臓に異常。
