Strain development1995年米国、国立ゲノム研究所においてショウジョウバエSex-lethalのマウス発生における機能を解析する目的でSex-lethalの形質転換マウスを作成していた際に生じた変異マウスである。
Strain descriptionBackground FVBGene Drosophial Sex-lethal genePromoter TetracyclineショウジョウバエSex-lethalの形質転換マウスの中で、骨、腎臓等の異常を示す変異マウスを得た。Transgene挿入に伴うInsertional Mutagenesisである。骨形成、腎臓形成のメカニズムを明らかにするのによいモデルマウスを提供する。
Colony maintenance変異マウスの症状は、Transgeneが父からきたときのみ発症し、母方からのtransmissionでは起きないことからインプリント様の伝達をすると思われる。行動の異常がある形態の異常・奇形がある繁殖成績が低い
