BRC No.RBRC00777
TypeTransgeneCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameFVB/N-Mkrn1-ps1<Tg(Polr3e)>/Rbrc
Former Common nameSex-lethal transgeneic mouse, SL-T,D
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by National Institute of Genome in 1998.
Strain descriptionThis strain, which has multiple bone and kidney defects, arose from transgenic lines in which the Sex-lethal gene of Drosophila had been introduced. The insertional mutagenesis of the Mkrn1-ps gene has been confirmed. The phenotype is only apparent when the mutant allele is transmitted from the male parent. This strain may be useful for studies on the formation of bone and kidney.
