Strain developmentC57BL/6-W<Sh>/+を大阪大学北村幸彦先生より導入。W遺伝子のメラノサイトにおける機能解析のためにBALB/c系統に戻し交配し毛色茶の系統を作出した。BALB;B6-W<Sh>/+のF4代目よりホモ個体を分離してホモ系統として育成をしている。
Strain description雌雄とも繁殖可能。黒目で体は白毛。メラノサイトおよび生殖腺におけるc-kitの機能解析。
