ES Cell lineE14K [129P2/OlaHsd]
Background strainC57BL/6JJcl
Appearanceblack [a/a B/B C/C]
Strain developmentB6;129P2-Ptpn7<tm1Bwz>. Hematopoietic protein tyrosine phosphatase (HePTP) is a hematopoiesis-specific cytoplasmic protein tyrosine phosphatase that is induced in primary lymphocytes by extracellular stimuli. This knockout mouse strain is useful for investigating the function of the HePTP gene.
Strain descriptionDeveloped by Dr. Haruhiko Suzuki, University of Toronto in 1994. A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into the second exon of the HePTP gene. The HePTP deficient mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 4 times.
Colony maintenanceHomozygous mutant mice were viable and fertile.
