Hematopoietic protein tyrosine phosphatase (HePTP) is a hematopoiesis-specific cytoplasmic protein tyrosine phosphatase that is induced in primary lymphocytes by extracellular stimuli. This knockout mouse strain is useful for investigating the function of the HePTP gene. |
Strain description | Developed by Dr. Haruhiko Suzuki, University of Toronto in 1994. A neomycin selection cassette was inserted into the second exon of the HePTP gene. The HePTP deficient mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 4 times. |
Colony maintenance | Homozygous mutant mice were viable and fertile. |
