Strain description遺伝性多発性外骨腫遺伝子EXT2が軟骨細胞特異的に過剰発現している。生後8週ぐらいまで、軟骨におけるヘパラン硫酸量の増加、骨形成の増大が認められる。ヘパラン硫酸の生合成を調べるモデルマウス。
Colony maintenanceLacZ遺伝子も同じ軟骨細胞特異的に過剰発現している。トランスジェニックマウスは野生型マウスに比べて何ら外見上の異常なし。成育速度、繁殖効率ともに正常。
