Strain developmentDeveloped by Keiko Nakayama and Kei-ichi Nakayama, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Washington University School of Medicine in 1996. E14 ES cells were used to generate the mutant mice. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6.
Strain descriptionp27 (Cdkn1b) gene knockout mice. A 2.5 kb region containing exons 1 and 2 was replaced with a PGK-neo cassette.
