Strain development1989年，東京大学医科学研究所よりSJL/Jを名古屋大学医学部に導入（世代数不明）（鬼頭純三先生）． 1998年，名古屋大学農学部・織田銑一先生に譲渡．＋F1世代目に内耳異常のミュータントが見出される（1998年）．その後，繁殖困難な為，F8世代にC57BL/6Jと交配をする．現在，名古屋大学大学院生命農学研究科（織田銑一先生）において維持されている．
Strain descriptioncosa: cochleo-saccular defect常染色体劣性単一遺伝子．内耳異常．ホモ接合体は音に対する反射を欠き，歩行異常を呈す．
