Strain development1985年，ジャクソン研究所のC3H/HeJにおいて織田銑一先生によって発見，その後，名古屋大学環境医学研究所へ導入される．名古屋大学大学院生命農学研究科　織田銑一先生よりRIKEN BRCへ導入。
Strain descriptionruf: rough fur　皮膚被毛異常疾患第9染色体単一劣性遺伝子．形態的汗腺の異常 (高脂質形成) ．生後，13日頃から毛と皮膚が水に濡れたような症状を呈する．生後13日目以前は正常と同じように成長し，生後50日目以降は毛並みが荒れている形態しかみられない．
