Strain developmentoutbred Swiss miceを起源とする。慶応大学（1941年）-東京大学（1944年）-北海道大学（日付不明）-国立遺伝学研究所（1951年）。その後、九州大学にて亜系統が確立された（1954年）。埼玉がんセンター研究所・志佐 湍博士より寄託。寄託元で交配，妊娠雌を理研筑波研究所へ搬送し、帝王切開にてSPF化（97.04.08）．維持は通常の兄妹交配。同腹仔の場合は離乳と同時に交配を行う．同腹仔以外の場合は雄8-12週齢，雌4-8週齢（交配未経験の場合）で繁殖に供用するとよい．
Strain description日本固有の近交系。outbred Swiss miceを起源とする。リンパ腫高発系統。現在、4つの亜系統、DL/QDj、SL/Am、SL/Ni、SL/Khが知られている。Mitマーカーをもちいたバックグラウンド検査により、SL/NiとSL/Amは亜系統群でもっともSL系統のもととなった原種に近い系統であることが予想されている。一方、SL/KhはAKR系統がコンタミネーションしていることが示されている。H2ハプロタイプはすべて”q”．
