Strain developmentペット用pink-eye yellowマウス（Japanese fancy mouse）（ppAAbb）とC57BLマウスとの交配した子孫4世代目に出現した自然突然変異系統（Coisogenic strain）（1969年）．その後，C3Hf/Heを用いてconjenic strainを作製（織田銑一先生，名古屋大学環境医学研究所）．現在，名古屋大学大学院生命農学研究科（織田銑一先生）において維持されている．
