Strain development埼玉県立がんセンター研究所・松島芳文先生。日本産野生モロシヌスマウス（KOR）に生じた自然突然変異。兄妹交配により育成。
Strain descriptionMus musculus molossinusに属する。埼玉県立がんセンター研究所・松島芳文博士より寄託。日本産野生モロシヌスマウス (KOR) に生じた自然突然変異であり、高脂血症、動脈硬化の症状を示す。アポリポ蛋白E遺伝子の突然変異によるアポE欠損により発症することが明らかになっている。アポEは脂質代謝に重要であり、SHLマウスのホモ型では血清総コレステロールの高値、動脈硬化、重度の皮膚黄色腫が認められる。高脂血症、動脈硬化症の機序、予防および治療法の研究に役立つ疾患モデルマウスである。
