Strain description | SHL, spontaneously hyperlipidemia mutant mice. Spontaneous mutation arose in KOR mouse colony derived from Japanese wild-mice (Mus musculus molossius). Homozygous mutant mice show increased circulating cholesterol level. Homozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile (before onset of xanthoma). Females of homozygote show lower reproductive performance. |
