Strain developmentDeposited by Akio Kihara, Hokkaido University, in 2020. Mice were generated using E14 (ES cell) derived from 129P2/OlaHsd. Mice were further backcrossed to C57BL/6J for more than 21 generations.
Strain descriptionElovl1 knockout mice. A loxP site was inserted upstream of exon 2. An FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette with a 5' loxP site was inserted downstream of exon 8. Cre-mediated recombination removed exons 2 through 8 and left the FRT-flanked neomycin resistance cassette intact.
