Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Nobuhiro Tanuma, Miyagi Cancer Center, in 2012. KY1.1 ES cells derived from (C57BL/6J x 129S6/SvEvTac)F1 were used. Mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6N for 12 generations. C57BL/6N congenic strain. Y-chromosome is derived from C57BL/6NJcl. |
Strain description | Atg13 Knock-in mice expressing PKM1 splicing isoform of the Pkm (pyruvate kinase, muscle) gene. Homozygous mutants are grossly normal and fertile, but exhibit accelerated tumor growth at several experimental tumor models. |
