Strain developmentDeveloped by Yusuke Ohno and Akio Kihara, Hokkaido University in 2010. ES cells (E14) derived from 129 were used. Mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 for 16 generations. C57BL/6 congenic strain.
Strain descriptionHacd1 (3-hydroxyacyl-CoA dehydratase 1) knockout mice. Homozygous mutants exhibit reduced body and muscle weights.
