Strain developmentDeveloped by Nobuya Sasaki, Hokkaido University in 2010. C57BL/6J x ICGN F1 was backcrossed to FVB over 10 generations. Y chromosome is derived from FVB.
Strain descriptionFVB congenic line harboring Tensin2 mutation (Tns2<nph>) derived from the ICGN strain. This line is useful to study nephrosis. Homozygous mutants develop albuminuria, renal fibrosis and renal anemia as seen in ICGN mice. The mutants also demonstrated podocyte foot process alteration.
