SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6.129-Mta1<tm1Nkcc>
Former Common nameMta1 KO
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineE14TG2a [129P2/OlaHsd]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Soichi Takiguchi, National Hospital Organization Kyushu Cancer Center, in collaboration with Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo in 2002. E14TG2aIV ES cell line (129P2/OlaHsd) was used. C57BL/6J congenic strain (backcrossed to C57BL/6J for 35 generations).
Strain descriptionMta1 (metastasis associated 1) knockout mice. A genomic fragment corresponding from exon 10 to exon 13 of the Mta1 gene was replaced with a Neo resistance gene. The rate of homozygous mutants born from hetero x hetero crossing is much lower than what is expected from the Mendel’s law of inheritance.
