Strain developmentDeveloped by Hiroyuki Niida and Makoto Nakanishi, Nagoya City University Medical School in 2005. Maintained by Institute for Developmental Research, Aichi Prefectural Colony in 2006. E14 ES cells were used to generate the mutant mice.
Strain descriptionSAF-A (Brsk2) gene knockout mice. Exon 2 was replaced with a loxP-Pgk-neo-loxP cassette. Homozygous mutant mice die within 0-1 day after birth. Line 52J (RBRC06559), 28J (RBRC06560), 52N(RBRC06561), 28N(RBRC06562). Heterozygous females of C57BL/6J background cannot nurse pups.
