Strain developmentDeveloped by Kentaro Nagaoka, Graduate School of Agricultural and Life Sciences, University of Tokyo and Masato Ikawa, Research Institute for Microbial Diseases, Osaka University in 2006. D3 ES cells were used to generate the mutant mice. The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J.
Strain descriptionLao1 gene knockout mice. Exons 1 to 3 were replaced with a neo cassette. Homozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile, but homozygous females exhibit a weak resistance to an intramammary bacterial challenge.
