BRC No.RBRC06313
TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6.129-Sparc<tm1Hwe>
Former Common nameB6-Sparc KO
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineCCE/EK.CCE [129S/SvEv-Gpi1<c>]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Chin Chen Howem The Wistar Institute. CCB ES cells were used to generate the knockout mice. The mutant mice were maintained by Yasumasa Kato, Ohu university School of Dentistry through Helene Sga, Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia. C57BL/6 congenic.
Strain descriptionSparc (osteonectin, BM-40) gene knockout mice. Exon 4 of Sparc gene was replaced with MC1-neo and Pol2-neo tandem cassettes. Homozygous mutant mice exhibit cataracts, abnormal skeletal morphology and osteopenia (viable and fertile).
Colony maintenanceHomozygote x Homozygote [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl]
