BRC No.RBRC06138
TypeTargeted MutationCartagena
SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameB6.129P2-Serpina12<tm1>
Former Common nameVaspin KO, B6-Serpina12 KO, Vaspin-/-
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell lineBK4 [129P2/OlaHsd]
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Jun Wada, Department of Medicine and Clinical Science, Okayama University and Yoichiro Iwakura, Institute of Medical Sciences, University of Tokyo in 2008. 129P2 derived ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 10 times.
Strain descriptionVaspin (Serpina12) gene knockout mice. Exon 2 was deleted. Homozygous mutant mice fed with a high-fat-high sucrose diet exhibit increase in body weight, fad pad, liver weight and deterioration of insulin sensitivity.
Colony maintenanceHomozygote x Homozygote [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl]
