Strain nameB6.Cg-Tg(Mt1-RET)242Ina Tg(Dct-LacZ)A12Jkn
Former Common name242RET;Dct-LacZ
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strain
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Masashi Kato, Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine. Generated by crossing of RET mice and Hr mice (Hos:HRM). The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 over 10 times.
Strain descriptionMt1-RET/Dct-lacZ Tg mice. These mice express the lacZ in melanocytes under the control of Dct promoter and the human RET under the control of the mouse MT1 promoter/enhancer. Mt1-RET homozygous mutant mice are embryonic lethal.
Colony maintenanceMt1-RET: Carrier x Noncarrier; Dct-lacZ: Carrier x Carrier (Homozygote x Homozygote)
