Species | Mus musculus |
Strain name | B6;129P2-Kcnj11<tm1Sse> |
Former Common name | Kir6.2 KO, B6-Kcnj11 KO |
H-2 Haplotype | |
ES Cell line | E14 [129P2/OlaHsd] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Dr. Takashi Miki and Susumu Seino, Chiba University Graduate School of Medicine in 1998. E14 ES cells were used. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J over 5 generations. |
Strain description | Kcnj11 gene knockout mice. An exon of Kcnj11 gene was disrupted by neomycin resistance gene insertion. Homozygous mutant mice are viable and fertile, but show a somewhat low reproductive performance (nurturing) compared to wild-type. |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote, Homozygote x Homozygote [or Crossing to C57BL/6JJcl] |
