Strain developmentDeveloped by Shun Ishibashi, Faculty of Medicine, University of Tokyo in 2001. JH1 ES cells derived from 129S7/SvEvBrd were used for the generation of knockout mice. The mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6J for 8 generations by Laboratory of Cancer Biology and Molecular Immunology, University of Tokyo.
Strain descriptionAsgr1 knockout mice. The transcription initiation codon and the sequences encoding the transmembrane domain of Asgr1 gene were replaced with a pol2neo cassette. Homozygous mice show an impaired hepatic clearance of asialoglycoproteins.
