Strain development | Developed by Jun-ichiro Inoue, Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo in 1999. BALB/c background. |
Strain description | Traf6 knockout mice. A 2.5 kb genomic fragment was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. Homozygous mutant mice exhibit severe osteopetrosis and abnormal immune cell development and function, and die within around 2 weeks after birth. Homozygous mice represented only 12% of offspring. C57BL/6 background (RBRC04950), BALB/c background (RBRC05386). |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote x Wild-type [BALB/cAJcl] |
