ES Cell line | E14.1 [129P2/OlaHsd] |
Background strain | |
Appearance | |
Strain development | Developed by Fred Sblitzky, University of Nottingham in 2005. A lacZ-neo cassette replaced 220 bp of the ID4 cording region including the HLH domain. The mutant mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6 from 129 and CD1 (ICR) mixed background. |
Strain description | Id4 knockout mice. Id4 is a member of inhibitor of differentiation / inhibitor of DNA binding protein family. Homozygous mutant mice exhibit a abnormal brain structures. |
Colony maintenance | Heterozygote X Wild-type [C57BL/6JJcl] Homozygous mutant mice are small and most of them die within 8 weeks of age. |
References | Id4 is required for the correct timing of neural differentiation. Bedford L, Walker R, Kondo T, van Cruchten I, King E R, Sablitzky F Dev. Biol., 280, 386-395(2005). 15882580 |
