SpeciesMus musculus
Strain nameC57BL/6N-Tg(Ins1-cre)25Utr/Rbrc
Former Common nameInsulin-NLSCre
H-2 Haplotype
ES Cell line
Background strainC57BL/6NCrlCrlj
Appearance
Strain developmentDeveloped by Laboratory Animal Resource Center, University of Tsukuba and RIKEN BioResrouce Center in 2009. The transgene was injected into the pronuclei of C57BL/6N fertilized eggs.
Strain descriptionBAC Ins1-Cre transgenic mice. The mice were generated by using a BAC clone containing the mouse Ins1 gene, PR23-181I21. The Cre gene was inserted by homologous recombination into the second exon with a translational initiation codon in the Ins1 BAC clone. 6 founder lines were generated. The R26R crossing test indicated that line 25 (RBRC03934) is useful cre-driver for pancreatic beta cell-specific Cre-loxP recombination.
Colony maintenanceCarrier x Noncarrier [C57BL/6NCrlCrlj]. Hemizygous Tg mice are viable and fertile (viability and fertility of homozygotes are unknown).
