Strain descriptionヒトレニン遺伝子のトランスジェニックマウス (hRN8-12) の雌とヒトアンジオテンシノーゲン遺伝子のトランスジェニックマウス (hAG 2-5) の雄を親に持つダブルトランスジェニックマウス。高血圧症を呈する (THM, Tsukuba Hypertensive Mice) 。レニンとアンジオテンシノーゲンはヒト血管を収縮させ高血圧を維持する因子であるレニンーアンジオテンシン系のコンポーネント。腎臓から分泌されるレニンがアンジオテンシノーゲンに働き、アンジオテンシンIが生産され、さらに肝臓や各組織に含まれる変換酵素の作用を受けて強力な血管収縮作用をもつアンジオテンシンIIに変換することが知られている。hRN8-12の雌マウスとhAG 2-5マウスの雄を親に持つダブルトランスジェニックマウス ((hRN8-12 x hAG2-5)F1マウス) は高血圧症を呈する。一方、hAG 2-5の雌マウスにhRN8-12の雄マウスを交配させると、妊娠後期に顕著な血圧上昇認められる (PAH, Pregnancy-Associated Hypertensive) 。hRN8-12マウス (RBRC01122) 、hAG 2-5マウス (RBRC01123) 、hRN8-12 x hAG2-5)F1 (RBRC02432) 。
